Corroded galvanized pipes causing low pressure
Why it happens here
Galvanized steel pipes rust from the inside out. As they corrode, the interior diameter shrinks, restricting flow. This is common in Oak Level homes built before 1970. The rust also discolors water.
Our approach
We test water pressure at multiple fixtures and inspect visible piping. If corrosion is advanced, we recommend replacing the affected sections with copper or PEX. We can often do a partial repipe to save money.
